NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Tom Brady was limited in Wednesday’s practice due to a right hand injury, according to the team participation report. He has been in and out of the injury report this season – with an injury to the Achilles tendon and left shoulder – but this is the first time he has been injured by a throwing hand. According to a Boston Herald report, the injury occurred when one of Brady’s teammates accidentally ran towards him and hit his hand. He was X-rayed but did not reveal structural damage. Reserve veteran Brian Hoyer is the only quarterback in the Patriots squad. For his part, right tackle LaAdrian Waddle, who started against the Tennessee Titans in the Divisional Round, came out with a knee injury (sprain) in the second half and did not come back. That opened the door for Cameron Fleming to return to starting a position where the Patriots have not had option No. 1 Marcus Cannon since the middle of the season. In a week in which protecting Brady will be crucial against one of the best defenses in the NFL, any change in the offensive line deserves to be followed closely.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Deep Tashaun Gipson missed Wednesday’s practice with a right foot injury. It is a crucial part of the Jaguars defensive plan to stop Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. Gipson prevented Jimmy Graham and Delanie Walker from having a major impact when Jacksonville faced the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee. If he can not play, the Jaguars will have to rely on the inexperienced Jarrod Wilson, who has been primarily a special teams player.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
The Eagles’ 53-man roster is healthy enough ahead of Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Vikings. Linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (hamstring) was the only one to miss a practice this week. He was also absent last week due to the same injury but was able to play in the Divisional Round against the Falcons. Rookie cornerback Sidney Jones (hamstring) is back. He has participated fully in the training.
